Reneging with a variable time

Post by sanjay_jain » Tue Aug 02, 2016 12:12 pm

We would like to model the idea that different people in a queue may have different time for reneging based on their patience levels. Does anyone have an example model or guidelines on how to go about modeling a variable time for reneging?

Sanjay,

You can use the "R" or renege value input connector on the Queue to specify the duration of the renege time. I have attached a model with a random number block connected to this connector. This would be a random renege time. You can replace the Random Number block with a Get for an attribute value or perhaps a Lookup Table to lookup a value bases on a model parameter. Let me know if you wanted something different.
