Webinar Title

Lean Simulation: "Test-Fly" Changes to the Operation

Note: This webinar is currently only available for viewing by SME members. Mr. Curry is in negotiations with SME to release it for public viewing. We will keep you updated.

Webinar Recorded February 12, 2010
Length 53 minutes
Synopsis

SME webinarThis presentation focuses on a case study of a high-mix plant in which a lean team used simulation to test process changes needed to convert from a push process to a demand-driven pull process, before implementing them in the actual work environment.

In this webinar, you will learn how simulation modeling can be used as a tool in lean improvement programs, as a complement to other techniques such as value stream mapping and kaizen. Simulation allows one to visually see and measure how processes perform over time, including materials, information and financial flows, and how variability impacts them. It is particularly valuable in operations where a mix of products share resources, and it is difficult to "get your head around" all the things that are happening in a manufacturing stream. The presentation will focus on a case study of a high mix plant in which a lean team used simulation to test process changes needed to convert from a push process to a demand driven pull process, before implementing them in the actual work environment.

Webinar - Extend 6 to ExtendSim 7 ExtendSim Databases and Data Management
(trimmed down version of advanced training course)
$500 / $300 *

Webinar - Extend 6 to ExtendSim 7A very trimmed down version of the Database and Data Management on-site training course is also given as a 5-day, 2 hour per day webinar.

In this webinar, you will learn how to:

arrow Create databases
arrow Create and modify tables, fields, and records
arrow Create relationships
arrow Use dynamic linking
arrow Use basic Read and Write blocks
arrow Build reading and writing constructs using the Read (I), Write (I), and Equation (I) blocks
arrow Import and export model data

Explore ExtendSim's extensive data exchange, storage, and management
capabilities while learning about:

arrow Creating ExtendSim databases
arrow Internal data storage techniques
arrow Dynamic linking between an ExtendSim database and data
arrow Establishing Parent/Child relationships
arrow Basic to advanced blocks for data management
arrow Blocks for data exchange
arrow User interfaces for data exchange
arrow Using the Excel Add-In for ExtendSim databases

The focus is on creating and using internal ExtendSim databases, but other data exchange and storage capabilities will also be discussed.

This webinar is designed for Engineers, Managers, System Analysts, and anyone else who wants to learn how to manage data and maximize the usage of
databases in ExtendSim and to manage data.

Course requirements include:

arrow High speed internet connection
arrow ExtendSim installed (LT version or better)
arrow Not necessary, but having one screen dedicated to the screen sharing application and one screen dedicated to ExtendSim is suggested.

* Cost is $500 for this 5-day webinar. If you own an ExtendSim Maintenance Subscription, take advantage of a $200 discount on this course and attend for just $300. Please contact Imagine That Inc. to request a future webinar date.

Comments from a few of those who attended the original broadcasted webinar:

ExtendSim 8 "Version 8 looks very sweet. Love your work."
ExtendSim 8 "EXCELLENT! Equation Debugger."
ExtendSim 8 "Thanks. It is a great improvement."
ExtendSim 8 "Awesome Dave. Thanks heaps!"
ExtendSim 8 "Thanks! I can't wait to start using v8!"

Webinar - Extend 6 to ExtendSim 7This two hour webinar will give former Arena® users a jump start as they convert to ExtendSim. It covers:

arrow

Using value connectors, rather than writing code, to perform calculations.

arrow The types of discrete event blocks (residence, passing, and decision) and why you don't need resources everywhere.
arrow The advantages of the ExtendSim internal, relational database when building complex models. webinar
arrow Easy ways to duplicate, store, and reuse hierarchical components.
arrow Creating a user interface using cloning and other non-programming methods.
arrow Debugging models with ExtendSim's interactive features.

This webinar may be arranged at a time convenient to you. Contact Imagine That Inc. to schedule your private webinar.
