LightStone is a set of three libraries that allow you to model
the quantitative behavior (including real noises) of modern
spectrometric instrumentation such as UV-vis & IR spectrometers,
optical polarimeters, etc. The libraries contain more than
300 blocks, offer polychromatic modeling up to 100,001 wavelengths,
and fully implement the entire Jones & Muller optical calculi.
There are numerous blocks pertaining to statistics and even
a genetic optimization block.
This module is available as
a free
download on a "as is" basis. According to Lightstone
developer Prof. Voigtman, Lightstone is continually being
improved upon and new blocks are always being added. However,
the manual is somewhat dated and not perfectly up to date,
which is why the LightStone software is on an "as is" basis.
Even so, it is available for both Windows and Macintosh users
and includes full, commented source code.
Lightstone may be used with any
of the ExtendSim packages.

PaperMac AB has poured 18 years of development into FlowMac -- a knowledge
based system being used extensively by the pulp and paper industry in the engineering
and evaluation of mill performance. FlowMac allows detailed modeling of pulp
and paper processes for mass and energy balances, dynamic simulation, and powerful
accumulation of process knowledge.
FlowMac contains a series of libraries which includes more than 500 process-specific
blocks; such as chests, pumps, valves, meters, headboxes, digesters, etc. The
more than 200 tutorial models in FlowMac can be used for training in the use
of the system and for understanding blocks and processes. Complete models for
Kraft Pulp, TMP and RP pulping lines, papermachines, and effluent treatment
plants are included. FlowMac is a maxi software.
PaperMac AB also distributes PulpMac for use in the modeling of kraft pulp
plants.
