Edelman AwardPrestigious 2015 Franz Edelman Award for Achievement in Operations Research and the Management Sciences awarded to Syngenta for a project utilizing ExtendSim!

Syngenta teamed with KROMITE LLC to use analytics and operations research to improve food supplies to an increasingly crowded planet. Their entry was selected over 5 other finalist organizations who used innovative analytical methods to provide a disciplined way by which management can improve organizational performance in a wide variety of situations and across both public and private organizations.

Bioinformatics: Microbial Analysis From Sequence to Structure to Function to Ecology

College faculty interested in developing bioinformatics exercises for Microbiology or Cell and Molecular Biology classes should attend this session to develop your understanding of the microbiological (as compared to the computational or mathematical) aspects of bioinformatics analyses. This short course will use a research-like, problem-solving approach to model methods for analyzing molecular and genomic data as well as strategies for engaging students. The session will be held at the San Diego Supercomputer Center, University of California, San Diego from January 3 to 6, 2007.
